S.R. MEMO

If you weren't present for the February 3rd Ring Ceremony, you missed a fun and entertaining evening. Attendance was great, as TEN new Scottish Rite Masons were welcomed into the arms of the Rite. Nine of the ten were able to attend, and class president, Clint Cowart voiced his appreciation, and offered words of inspiration on behalf of the Benjamin Silverman Memorial Reunion Class. Entertainment was provided by Delma Cowart, and his FINGERS OF FIRE, (or should I say light), as he captivated all in attendance with his melodic frolic on the piano. Several awards were presented by Ill. Bro. Jimmy P. Smith, Personal Rep of the Deputy to the S.G.I.G. in Ga.
We all look foreward to the next reunion, and hope that it will be as, or even more successful than the last.

The Valley of Savannah has a new organization within it's own ranks. The Valley of Guthrie Oklahoma has seen fit to grant the Savannah Chapter of the Knights of St. Andrew a charter.
The KSA is an organization developed for the black hat Scottish Rite Masons in the Southern Jurisdiction to make a difference in their valleys. The KSA seeks to serve the valley and the Scottish Rite in the various tasks which it might be called upon to perform, including:

*Assisting at Reunions as cast or supporting personnell,

*Serving as assistants to the Valley in regular operations as willing or available,

*Creating an atmosphere of welcome and comfort for visitors and new members,

*Supporting the Rite through charitable acts, however the individual Knight might be able.

The real task of the Knight of Saint Andrew is to live up to being a Scottish Rite Mason, for all of these functions and more are the duty of all well regulated SR Masons. As our namesake sacrificed for the benefit of his convictions, so should WE, as Masons be driven by our own convictions, that those ideals we espouse amongst ourselves might spill out into the streets, making the world see the benefits of Masonry, and in turn create a better world to live in.
