We have no horses for sale at this time.
Available for Adoption! Two female boxer mix puppies. Caramel color with white markings, just over a year old and are up to date on all shots, have been dewormed and heartworm tested (negative)They are good with kids, but we recommend children be at least 6 years of age, as these are high energy dogs and still young. MUST have fenced in yard and dog house, as they would rather be outside dogs. Would prefer if they were adopted together. Due to donations regarding thier care, there will be no adoption fee. Adoption agreement still required, as is visitation once a month for six months, and again at a year if we deem it necessary. | | Dragon's Lair Stables |
Please read all of the following BEFORE contacting us about a horse on our sale page. This information applies to any sale we may make. ALL of our sale horses, unless otherwise noted, will not bite, kick, rear, buck, or otherwise act aggressively toward a human. Of course every horse still could do these things if provoked, but as a general rule, any horse found below has no desire to act out in a negative way. Occasionally, due to space and time constraints, one may appear for sale at a midpoint in training, and will be specified as such in its description. We believe in presenting an honest description of these animals, because we realize that 90% of our business is word of mouth. All of our horses are trained according to the practices found on our Facility and Training Theory page. Pricing Our horses are priced according to their conformation, temperament, training, and ability, not their breed. If a horse is able to do the job you want, then the registration should not matter unless you are ONLY interested in breed shows or breeding. Of course, demand does influence price, and if the demand is for a certain color, size, etc, then that will also reflect in our pricing. The longer a horse remains with us, the more likely that the price will go up, not down. The longer we have a horse, the more training it receives, and can be included in our lesson program, leased, or go to shows. If you see a horse you like, do not wait for the price to go down it probably won't. And you may end up paying more if you wait. Resale We have a clause in our sale contract that states that if the horse/pony is resold during the first year then we retain first right of refusal at no more than a 10% markup. This isn't intended to complicate things for the buyer, but to ensure in part the security of the animal. If we don't wish to buy the horse back, we may know of someone looking for such an animal and could possibly facilitate a sale at the price you want. This also allows us to keep tabs on any horses that have been especially exceptional for us. It also keeps traders from buying our horses and raising the price to make a quick buck on horses that we have put the effort into training. It is also intended to keep our horses out of auctions where "killer buyers" could pick them up. Trials We are willing to do trials if you are truly interested in one of our horses, but ONLY on the following conditions. Please do not ask us to bend the rules. We have a very small number of horses for sale and each one that is on trial is one we cannot sell in the interim. 1. The trial period is for two weeks and ONLY two weeks. In order to protect our investments, an $800 deposit will be expected at the start of the trial. If you decide to purchase the horse, this $800 will go toward the horses purchase price. If the horse is returned within the two week period, then we will refund all but $150 of the deposit. (This $150 is to make up for the possibility that a sale could have been made when the horse wasnt here, and therefore the trial will be considered instead as a two week lease.) If the horse is returned after the two week period, then we will retain the full $800. If the trial horse remains on our premises, then no deposit is necessary, but you will be expected to pay the $150 that covers a full lease for that two weeks. During the two weeks you are welcome to come out and spend as much time as you wish with the horse. 2. We WILL NOT release a horse on trial to anyone under 18. If the horse is to be for a minor, then an adult parent, guardian, or trainer must sign the agreements. 3. If the horse is injured during an off-site trial, then you will be responsible for any vet bills, as well as any additional costs incurred in returning the horse to health. In the event that we are unable to sell the horse due to its injury or death, a fair settlement must be agreed upon to recoup our financial losses. 4. You are responsible for providing transportation to and from the trial location if the horse is not remaining on the premises. We will provide transportation up to 30 miles at the cost of $2 per loaded mile. Over 30 miles the cost is $3 per loaded mile. 5. We WILL NOT send a horse out to do a trial to anyone over 60 miles from our farm, so don't even ask. Please check Mapquest.com if you aren't sure. Refunds If you purchase a horse from us and are not satisfied with its performance, behavior, or its ability to fit into your herd, we do offer LIMITED refunds. If you return the horse to us within two weeks of purchase, we will refund all but $250 of your payment. We will NOT refund any money if the horse has been sold more than two weeks. We will NOT offer refunds in the event that the horse is injured after purchase. We will do consignment if you decide to sell the horse after the two weeks. We will charge a 15% brokers fee for any consignment sale. Payments We will accept payments on a horse, but the horse must remain on our premises until completely paid for. During that time, you will be charged monthly board ($300) and any other fees that occur from caring for the animal, including vet, farrier, and worming costs. A down payment of 20% of the full purchase price is required.
We accept cash or money order. We will accept personal checks, but the horse or pony will leave our facility ONLY AFTER the check clears. click here to download bill of sale agreement |
