Due to liability and partnership issues, we are no longer using the "Giddy-Up-N-Go" ponies for parties. We are looking at adding a couple of ponies to our own herd, but for now we will continue to do horse parties with our current animals - trained lesson horses that are accustomed to young children. Please call us with any questions.

Dragon's Lair Stables will work with you to create a memorable experience for birthdays, holidays, family reunions, church functions, fundraisers, weddings, or carnivals. We will either come to you or let you come to us. Our staff has had years of experience and our horses are safe for all ages.


Parties at Dragon's Lair Stables

All parties at DLS include handlers for the animals, a picnic table for food and presents, and a cooler of ice water is available upon request. All refreshments to be supplied by you. No alchohol allowed. ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING! ONLY birthday cake candles are allowed, and only in the party area. Barn materials are highly flammable. Other decorations are welcome, our horses are accustomed to balloons and streamers. Prices below are for two hour parties, additional party time is $75 per hour


Basic Leadline Party (ages 2 - 7) - $175

Includes one hour of unlimited horse rides (1-3 horses, according to number of party-goers) and necessary handlers. All riders are led around the ring to insure safety.



Basic Horse Party (ages 8 and up) - $200

Includes one hour of riding time (1-3 horses, according to number of party-goers) with basic instruction, a voucher for a free 30-minute riding lesson for each party-goer, and a five minute riding demo by the trainer.



Large Group Functions (such as church groups, school groups, clubs, or scouts) - $125/per hour

Due to the number of horses and the staff and preparation needed to accomodate bigger groups, our larger functions are priced by the hour. Attendees are then split into smaller groups and taught grooming and handling safety, and taken on a short ride in the ring and through our property. Ages 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult that does not mind walking alongside the horses on our ride.

Add-Ons


Our Famous Horse Finger Painting (pictured above) - $30 per horse
We use only Crayola washable non-toxic paints for the safety of our horses and your children.

Exclusive to Dragon's Lair Stables! Party-goers actually get to paint ON the horses! Only available March through October. We recommend at least one horse per 12 guests. For more pictures, see our photo album page.


Hot Dog / Hamburger Cookout - $50

Especially good for larger groups, we will fire up the grill and cook up some outdoor fun. We supply the burgers, dogs, rolls, basic condiments, and chef - you bring the paper goods, extras, and drinks.


Create your own theme - $50 extra

All theme parties except Cowboy and Indian, Princess, or Engish Foxhunt are not currently available, due to the pony partnership difficulties. We are working to recreate our costumes for the horses, if you would like a specific theme not listed above, please give us notice at least a month in advance, so we can accomodate you!

We can create an original party using any theme you want. We have done princess parties, cowboy and indian parties, unicorns, safaris, holiday, and patriotic parties. Almost anything you can think of, we can do, we just ask that we have plenty of notice to prepare. On theme parties, we do require a $50 deposit at least two weeks in advance. Theme parties include costuming one horse for the birthday child and accent pieces for the child to wear and take home. For choice party themes, more decoration may be added to create the theme. In cowboy indian parties we have one horse in each costume.



DLS Horses To Go

We will bring any number of horses to your event. We do ask that if your party is held at a church or park that the horses are cleared with them BEFORE we show up. If we are asked to leave because the horses were not cleared beforehand, we will still expect FULL payment for showing up. The following prices are for ONE HOUR and include handlers. For prices on additional time, please contact us.

Due to rising fuel costs and other traveling expenses, the price of our away parties has increased. The prices below are our current updated prices.

One horse on the lead-$150

Two horses on the lead-$180

Three or more horses are available upon request with enough notice - at least two weeks, call with any questions. Horse costumes can be provided for theme parties at no extra charge if they are already available. If we do not have an appropriate costume, horses will arrive with traditional riding gear.

Finger painting can be added to any away party for the cost of $40 for one horse $20 for each additional horse. To do away finger painting, facilities must exist for us to wash the horse before leaving. A simple garden hose in the backyard is sufficient, as is a bucket of water and a clean sponge. We use only Crayola washable non-toxic paints for the safety of our horses and your children.
