Dates for our Student Summer Camp are now up. This camp is an evening camp and is only for current lesson students that are trotting. New riders should sign up for the Beginner Camp in July. Dates for our July beginner summer camp in 2008 will soon be up. There will only be one week of new rider beginner camp scheduled, unless we end up with a wait list, then we will split the camp into two seperate weeks. Please register as soon as possible to ensure a place in our camp - the spots are limited to six per camp week and fill quickly. There will be no advanced camp in 2008, due to scheduling conflicts. Below we have some pictures from a previous Advanced Summer camp. There are also some past camp pictures on the photo album page. Beginner's Summer Camp covers the basics of horsemanship and horse care, and basic riding skills, including an hour a day of riding time. Each camper is assigned a horse for the week. On Saturday we hold a mock horse show for parents and friends. All campers also get a special photo made with thier horse to remember the week. We usually schedule two beginner camps a season. New riders are encouraged to register for both weeks, as this reinforces the basics needed for riding in the future. Advanced Summer Camp is for our more experienced regular lesson students and covers a different theme each year. Our last advanced camp focused on cross-country jumping techniques, but each year is catered to suit the abilities of the registered students. "Home for the Holidays" Camp is a three day camp held over Winter vacation, usually between Christmas and New Year's. In addition to the normal beginner camp activities, campers do winter themed activities, like drink hot chocolate, make christmas ornaments, and have a secret santa drawing.
