Grain Mix Recipe

Trinity Ranch Vermiculture Division

Careful! Any time you change your worm's diet, they have to readjust. Make all changes on a graduated basis.

Holding/Fattening Bin Grain Mix Recipe

As I mentioned earlier, we use a special grain mix when we have our worms in holding or fattening bins. This is a 16% feed mixture, but must be ground extremely fine at the grain elevator. This recipe is for 100 pounds of feed.

15 pounds of alfalfa pellets
15 pounds soy bean meal
15 pounds soy bean hulls
15 pounds of wheat mids
40 pounds of ground corn
Grind extremely fine.

When feeding, we mist our beds as usual and lightly scatter the mix on the surface, then cover with landscape fabric. We only refeed when that application is gone. Works good for us, hope it serves you well too.
