Proper pH is important, but not often a problem. Worms can tolerate from 4.5 to 8.5, or higher on your pH scale, but 6.5 to 7 is optimal. I personally prefer the 6.0 to 6.5 range. If too acidic, you can correct conditions with agricultural, or garden lime. Hydrated lime will kill your worms. If too alkaline, use agricultural sulfur. To simplify things, good old baking soda or wood ashes will replace the lime, and apple cider vinegar in a mist type bottle will replace the sulfur. Remember, make all changes gradually.
