Besides the crew chief, the race spotter is the most important member of the team when the driver is on the track. The race spotter's primary responsibility is to keep his or her driver safe on the track. His secondary responsibility is to find his driver the quickest way to the front of the field. In the past, race spotters were team or family members that had other duties in the garage during practice and qualifying. In light of rule changes around the racing world in terms of spotter requirements, today's race spotters must be dedicated to spotting only. With the exception of qualifying, any time that your driver is on the track, the spotters place is in the spotting stand, not on top of the team transporter or on pit road. I consider myself to be a professional spotter and I will represent your sponsors in a professional manner. Tony Micale
