Chief Functions in the Body:
Part of the coenzyme TPP(thiamin pryophosphate) used in energy metabolism.

RIBOFLAVIN-B2
Chief Functions in the Body:
Part of coenzymes FMN(flavin mononucleotide) and FAD(flavin adenine dinucleotide) used in energy metabolism.

NIACIN-B3
Chief Functions in the Body:
Part of coenzymes NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) and NADP (its phosphate form) used in energy metabolism.

BIOTIN
Chief Functions in the Body:
Part of a coenzyme used in energy metabolism, fat synthesis, amino acid metabolism, and glycogen synthesis.

PANTOTHENIC ACID
Chief Functions in the Body:
Part of coenzyme A, used in energy metabolism.

VITAMIN B6 (pyridoxine)
Chief Functions in the Body:
Part of coenzymes PLP (pyridoxal phosphate) and PMP (pyridoxamine phosphate) used in amino acid and fatty acid metabolism; helps to convert tryptophan to niacin and to serotonin; helps make red blood cells.

FOLATE (folic acid)
Chief Functions in the Body:
Part of coenzymes THF (tetrahydrofolate) and DHF (dihydrofolate) used in DNA synthesis and therefore important in new cell formation.

VITAMIN B12 (Cobalamin)
Chief Functions in the Body:
Part of coenzymes methylcobalamin and deoxyadenosylcobalamin
used in new cell synthesis; helps to maintain nerve cells; reforms folate coenzyme; helps to break down some fatty acids and amino acids.

CHOLINE
Chief Functions in the Body:
Needed for the synthesis of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and the phospholipid lecithin.

VITAMIN C-(Ascorbic Acid)
Chief Functions in the Body:
Collagen synthesis (strengthens blood vessel walls, forms scar tissue, provides matrix for bone growth), antioxidant, thyroxin synthesis, amino acid metabolism, strengthens resistance to infection, helps in absorption of iron. Synthesis of carnitine, hormones and neurotransmitters.

VITAMIN A (Retinol, Beta-carotene)
Chief Functions in the Body:
Promotes healthy eyes, skin, hair, teeth, gums; bone and tooth growth; reproduction; immunity; cancer prevention; healing of infections. Beta-carotene can act as an antioxidant.

VITAMIN D (Calciferol)
Chief Functions in the Body:
Mineralization of bones (raises blood calcium and phosphorus by increasing absorption from digestive tract, withdrawing calcium from bones when calcium from diet is insufficient, stimulating retention by kidneys).

VITAMIN E (Alpha-tocopherol)
Chief Functions in the Body:
Antioxidant (stabilization of cell membranes, regulation of oxidation reactions, protection of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) and vitamin A).

VITAMIN K
Chief Functions in the Body:
Synthesis of blood-clotting proteins and bone proteins that regulate blood calcium.

Minerals

CALCIUM
Chief Functions in the Body:
Mineralization of bones and teeth; involved in muscle contraction and relaxation; nerve impulse transmission; cellular adhesion; blood clotting; blood pressure; immune defenses.

CHLORIDE
Chief Functions in the Body:
Maintains normal fluid and electrolyte balance; part of hydrochloric acid found in the stomach; necessary for proper digestion.

CHROMIUM
Chief Functions in the Body:
Glucose tolerance; works with insulin to control blood sugar; needed for release from glucose; lipid metabolism.

COPPER
Chief Functions in the Body:
Helps form hemoglobin; part of several enzymes.

FLUORIDE
Chief Functions in the Body:
Helps form bones and teeth; helps make teeth resistant to decay.

IODINE
Chief Functions in the Body:
Component of the thyroid hormones that regulate growth, development, and metabolic rate.

IRON
Chief Functions in the Body:
Creation of hemoglobin; helps hemoglobin hold oxygen in the blood; creates red blood cells with help from B12 and folate; important for physical and brain development; part of the protein myoglobin in muscles, which makes oxygen available for muscle contraction; necessary for the use of energy.

MAGNESIUM
Chief Functions in the Body:
Bone mineralization; helps lower blood pressure; prevents arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat); helps maintain body cells in nerves and muscles; nerve impulse transmission; functioning of immune system.

MANGANESE
Chief Functions in the Body:
Activates enzymes; metabolism of fats.

MOLYBDENUM
Chief Functions in the Body:
Cofactor for several enzymes.

PHOSPHORUS
Chief Functions in the Body:
Mineralization of bones and teeth; collagen formation; ATP (energy) production; Acid-base balance in blood plasma, phospholipids, DNA, and enzymes.

POTASSIUM
Chief Functions in the Body:
Maintains normal fluid and electrolyte balance; asists in nerve impulse transmission and muscle contractions; necessary for muscle strength; maintains blood pressure; supports cell integrity.

SELENIUM
Chief Functions in the Body:
Part of an enzyme that defends against oxidation; regulates thyroid hormone.

SODIUM
Chief Functions in the Body:
Maintains normal fluid and electrolyte balance; assists in nerve impulse transmission and muscle contraction.

SULFUR
Chief Functions in the Body:
As part of proteins, stabilizes their shape by forming disulfide bridges; part of the vitamins biotin and thiamin and the hormone insulin.

ZINC
Chief Functions in the Body:
