Tessie-Cat's Unauthorized Animal Rescue

I love my pets! I wish I could have lots more, but my mom says I'm NOT ALLOWED to bring any more abandoned animals home because we are running out of room!

Poppy

Last Autumn, I adopted a collie and she is very sweet. Her name is Poppy, but everyone wants to call her Lassie. The vet said she is between two and three years old. She has one brown eye, and one three-quarters blue eye. She came from a pure-breed rescue shelter (see link below), which is a great way to find a pet if you want a certain breed. They charge an adoption fee and my mom used to think it was too expensive until we noticed that it usually includes all shots, spay or neuter, and a clean bill of health! The adoption fee is usually equal to or less than one round of shots and flea medicine at the vet, so now my mom says it is actually a great bargain! Plus, my mom would rather have a grown-up dog than a puppy, and at the pure-bred rescue you can choose either one.

Boney Maroney

Boney Maroney is our very sweet Siamese-tabby mix. He was wild when we rescued him, and he was SO thin he could squeeze through the links of our chain-link fence. Since then, he has been de-wormed, fed, NEUTERED, and loved and is MUCH bigger than when we found him.

This graphic of a Japanese fox reminds me a lot of Sorcha!

Sorcha

Sorcha is Gaelic for "bright, shining, radiant one". This is because she has a beautiful pale strawberry-blonde coat. She was dumped out at our church (as many animals are) and we took her home, intending to find her a family. Well, now WE'RE her family! We aren't quite sure what kind of dog she is - our best guess is a golden retriever-husky mix, but sometimes she looks and acts an awful lot like a wolf. She was bloated terribly from malnutrition and worms when we got her but now she's a gorgeous blonde! We love her very much.

This picture looks a LOT like Mi-Ke!!

Mi-Ke Neko

(pronounced Meekay Neeko)
Mi-Ke is a calico cat who was living with a colony of wild cats when we found her. Sometimes she is sweet, but sometimes she isn't! Her name means "Three-Fur Cat" in Japanese. In Japan a three-colored cat is considered to be lucky. Mi-Ke likes to be right in the center of things and likes to lay on books when we are trying to read!

Punkin

Punkin is one of Mi-Ke's babies that we decided to keep. She had three kittens, and two got to go to the same home together! Punkin is a white tomcat with orange spots.
