NINILCHIC - A FISHING VILLAGE

This was one of the favorite things Ron has done on the entire trip. This plane is a 1929 Travelaire. These planes were the first passenger planes that Delta Air Lines flew immediately after they quit flying the cropdusters.

It has been fitted with floats so it land on lakes. The pilot has had it since 1969 and has rebuilt it several times.

Our next stop after Homer was the little, old Russian fishing village called Ninilchic. I included this picture to show you how some of our parking sites look. This one was right on the beach.

This Russian Orthodox church from 1900 overlooks the village.

IT'S A MONSTER...... Ron catches a King Salmon. It was between 35-50 pounds depending on how much he's drinking at the time!

I don't need no stinkin' boat or fishing pole. This is my kind of fishing.....
