Class of 71 - Last Will and Testament

LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT presented at our Senior Banquet & Prom

As another graduation day draws near and the Senior Class of 1971 prepares to depart the hallowed halls and ivy covered walls of Pflugerville High School, we feel it appropriate to render our last will and testament, upon the hopeful departure of at least the majority of us.

We have little to give as Mr. Hendrickson will willingly testify, but what we do have we give with a clear conscience, and not many regrets, hoping that our wonderful reputation will long outlive our corporal presence at PHS.

Therefore, hear ye all present that the Senior Class of 1971 doest bequeath to the Junior Class the following:

TO WIT:
Since scholarship is supposedly the highest goal at PHS this topic will receive top priority, and the following will be left to the illustrious Juniors:

The Senior shorthand class WILLS their "future" ability to Rick Riley - with that going for him he can't lose.

Intellectual Roger Kruger leaves his place (space?) in Physics to Russell Kuempel.  In, fact:  Roger, Sandra, Ronnie, Don, Joe and Roy WILL their ability in Physics to all those Juniors with courage enough to take it next year.  This ability amounts to about one angstrom unit.

In the same vein David Franklin, that demon of geometric theorms, WILLS his ability to pass (or should we say pass up) geometry to Tommy Olle.

Sue Slaughter bequeaths her thirteen glorious years in school to Bobby Reisner, who is working on it.
Steve Cummins, Archie Smith and Darryl Hodde WILL their ability to take timed writings to Marvin Mohler.

Kathy Johns WILLS her ability in shorthand to her sister, Barbara, so that they can keep it in the family.

The Seniors would like to leave a little something special to Russell Kuempel - they would like to leave him Ben Kruger's ability to study and Mary Heep's massive brainpower and unique common sense.

Wide awake Gene Schumann WILLS his unfailing enthusiasm in English Literature to Juan Sanchez.Darryl Hodde, Andy Habecker and Darwin Steger leave Edward Meiske and Bobby Reisner their ability to pass Vocational Agriculture.

There is one very special item of geat importance, Sandra Zwerneman recognizes Eddie Drosche's great need and would like to leave him her grades - if it isn't too late.

And in a slight departure in usual form, Roy Craver would like to leave his ability to spell in several foreign languages to Mr. Hendrickson.

The Senior Class of 1971 has been charactarized as being weak of mind but strong of body.  The sports record of the past year bears out the latter part of this statement and therefore where studying does not come natural to some of us we WILL the following athletic abilities:

Dennis Luedtke being of sound mind but crippled body WILLS his falling arches and rolling ankles to Doug Greinert and he leave his ability as a quarterback to Edward Meiske - who needs it.

Jerry Moellenberg leave his one good knee to Doug, also.  It sounds like if Doug isn't falling apart now he soon will be.

Gene Schumann and Joe Reichert bequeath their collective ability to stick with football against all odds to William Engle.

Mark Bledsoe leaves his ability in football to Stephen Hilsberg.  After San Angelo, Mark hopes Steve will accept this in the SOBER manner in which it is given.

That universal athlete, Archie Smith, leaves his ability to compete in tense situations to Russell Kuempel.

Don Peters bequeaths his old football shoes and his lucky socks that have never been washed to Rick Gracy.  Ricky, we hope you mother is prepared for this.

The girls basketball team did itself proud this year and the senior girls on that team made a large contribution.  Because of this they leave the following:

Diane Samuelson hopefully leaves her place on the All District list to Jan Knebel.

Cyndi Settle leaves her ability to play basketball to Debby Murchison and her BBR (Bohemian Body Rot) to Becky Herber.

Janet Pfluger WILLS her usefulness to Lorna Seaton and her brilliant co-ordination to "Grace" Knebel.

In boy's basketball, Archie Smith leave his rebounding ability to Jesse Hayes and his running ability to Joseph Robinson.

Jerry Moellenberg leaves his bag of fantastic moves on the basketball court to Tommy Olle.

Joe Reichert WILLS his ability to lift weights to "Man Mountain" Jesse Hayes and to Ed Hore he WILLS the foam rubber in the pole vault pits.

Generally there are two fantastic senior athletes who feel that some of the Juniors need all the help they can get.

Therefore, Sandra Zwerneman would like to leave her athletic ability to Ricky Gracy and Ronnie Vorwerk would like to leave his to Butch Krueger.

In personal qualities the Senior Class possesses everything from Mary Heep's brain to Don Peters bicep to Corrine Casey's big toe.  With so many outstanding qualities of this nature to draw from the Senior Class feels obligated to pass some of these on to the next class.

Humbly Jerry Moellenberg wishes to leave his outstanding quality of humility to Denise Dearing.  And he would like to leave his patented "Mr. Wonderful" walk to Johnny Stephens.

Don Peters bequeaths his superb personal magnetism to Ed Horne, his masculinity to Tommy Olle, his ability to lie and be evasive to Linda McCarley and his ability in Vocational Agriculture to Gerald Wernecke.  Just because Don has so many wonderful qualities to WILL, he doesn't want everyone to think he is conceited -- actually he is almost as humble as Jerry Moellenberg.

Sue Slaugther leaves a pair of genuine Greta Garbo legs to Cindy White, along with a $2 million insurance policy and a box of toothpicks.

Ricky Burk would like to pass on his massive weight to Tommy Olle and Darryl Hodde would like to leave his fine physique to Larry Buchanan.

Ronnie Vorwerk would like WILL his excessive talking in class to Phyllis Krause and Timm Bowie would like to WILL to Ed Horne the saying "Silence is Golden".

Good humored Corrine Casey would like to pass on to Lorna Seaton her keen sense of humor -- have a good laugh Lorna.

Dennis Luedtke leaves his wardrobe to Keith Weiss and Jerry Moellenberg leaves Keith his top button since Jerry has no use for it.

Roy Craver would like "Twinkle Toes" Hayes to have his ability to dance and Mike Casey would like William Engle to have his ability to sing tenor solo --  ten or twelve miles away and so low you can't hear it.

Rene Bauhs would like Doug Greinert to have her height and Ben Kruger, in true generosity, would like to leave his entire missing tooth to Arlene Roeglin.

Carroll Mixson would like to WILL his sideburns to Robert Tobler and Lana Weiss would like to will her smile to Lorna Seaton.

Sandra Zwerneman has such a great ability to play cards and win that she feels that she had better pass the quality on to Johnny Stpehens while there is still time.

Also, while there is still time, Diane Samuelson would like to WILL to Cindy White her ability to stick with one boy.  Maybe tonight will do it for Cindy.

Joe Reichert leaves his ability to argue with teachers to Russell Kuempel and Sue Slaughter leaves her ability to get along with Mr. Hendrickson to Denise Dearing.

Mark Bledsoe generously leaves his ability to pretend to stay awake in Texas History to Bobby Reisner and Keith Weiss -- they will need it and hopefully it will be more useful to them than it was to Mark.

Amy Purdy would like to offer her involvement in school affairs to Debby Murchison.

Janet Pfluger and Pam Fuchs tearfully WILL their ability to cry at a moments notice to Arlene Roeglin.  And Janet also leaves her ability to forecast the weather with her hair to Cindy Bartley and Carolyn Colbert.

Speaking of hair and Pam Fuchs, since Pam is always so concerned over her millions of split ends and so that she can be relieved of this worry she would like to leave them to Barbara Johns.

Since Debbie Hartgrove has always wanted to sing, Carol Wolff leaves her one exquisite voice.

When it come to voices we all know about Jan Knebel's, to correct the situation, Jerry Moellenberg would like to WILL his voice to "Squeaky" Knebel.

Diane Samuelson WILLS Lorna Seaton her ability to keep her temper and Cynthia Randig leaves her ability to complain to Becky Herber.

Carol Wolff would like to give Edward Meiske her bag of excuses to leave school, but she warns Edward not to use the one about the stool being too close to the fire too often for it doesn't work well.

Andy Habecker would like to WILL his chewing tobacco to Larry Buchanan and Mike Greinert leaves his genunine pop-top thumb to Eddie Drosche and Tommy Olle.

Knowing Nancy Saringer's recent problem, Sue Slaughter would like to pass on her abilities as a Class Treasurer and feeling obligated to humanity, she would like to leave Ed Horne (better known as Cyrano) her nose.

After twelve years in the same place, any group will accumulate a considerable amount of useful and not so useful items.  After cleaning out the attic in a figurative sense, this years class would like to pass several of these objects along to worthy Juniors.

Joe Reichert would like to leave his tin foil collection to Gayle Hurst and Mike Greinert would like to WILL his yo-yo to Larry Buchanan.

Jerry Moellenberg WILLS his A-1 Deluxe Geometric Speed-up Ruler to Russell Kuempel and Pam Fuchs leaves her napkin collection to Debby Murchison.

Roger Kruger would like to bequeath his right sandal to Gerald Wernecke and his left sandal to Johnny Stephens.

Darry Hodde in a true gesture of friendship WILLS Ed Horne a new belt with no notches.

Carolyn Cleveland leaves Jesse Hayes, that demon of academia, a pencil and paper since he never seems to have any of his own.

As a potential public servant Carroll Mixson would like to start on the right foot and therefore WILLS Debbie Hartgrove a genuine Smokey the Bear Fire Extinguisher.

Archie Smith Would like to WILL Joseph Robinson an autographed copy of "UNCLE TOM'S CABIN".

After being late to Spanish one morning, Sue Slaughter swore Scotch Tape was one thing she could do without, so she WILLS all the tape she collected that morning to Marvin Mohler.

Kyle Collier is throwing out her old Monopoly game and would like to leave Joe Contreras both of the "get out of jail free" cards.

The first need of today's high school student seems to be an automobile and the PHS students being no different the Seniors have several of these type objects to pass along.

Lana Weiss bequeaths Carolyn Colbert one muddy pasture to get stuck in any time she wants.  Lana would also like to leave her Mustang to Jackie Thomison since he wants one so badly.  And Lana has yet another object to WILL -- she would like to leave her car door to Bobby Reisner since he already has a pile of junk.

Jerry Moellenberg gives his old engine to Richard Delancy and Dennis Luedtke leaves Richard two cylinders to go with it.

Gene Schumann WILLS Doug Harris and Rick Gracy his set of tools since they don't seem to be able to do anything with the ones they have.

In the estate the size of ours there are bound to be a few loose ends that must be dealt with.  The following items fit in an all special category, but each and ever one is something special to this year's Seniors.  Hopefully you can do as well with them as we did.

Tremblingly, Pam Fuchs passes on her ability to tell monster stories to Larry Buchanan, and Mike Greinet WILLS his "cry of fear" to any fearful Junior, or rather to all the Juniors.

"Crash" Kruger leaves his driving ability to Rick Gracy and Ronnie Vorwerk wills his ability to keep the speed limit in downtown Pflugerville to Tommy Olle and Richard Delancy.

Kyle Collier generously leaves her car to Rick Riley, plus a shole case of STP.  At the same time Carol Wolff WILLS robert Tobler her 1954, SS-396 -- even though he may not want it.

Kathy Mills WILLS her ability to sponge rides to Jan Knebel and Debby Murchison.

Sandra Zwerneman would like Linda McCarley to have one genuine candle stick and her acting ability.

David Franklin would like George Pena to have hig night life -- David can't stand it anymore.

In another of those outstanding gestures of friendship, Dennis Luedtke leaves his ability not to be Hen-pecked to Butchy Krueger.

William Engle, because of your ability in Economics and Consumer Math, Mark Bledsoe WILLS you his Assistant Manager's job at the internationally know "Hillside Hut".

The Senior members in the band bequeath Kyle Collier's ability to check roll to Denise Dearing.  Kathy Mills leaves her ability not to lose her temper in band to Denise also.

The Seniors next WILL many hours of indigestion acquired from the lunchroom to the Juniors.

Also, the Seniors would like to WILL Russell Kuempel one 30 year old, but extremely good looking, UT Freshman English teacher named Olive.

And the Senior Class would like to bequeath to the Junior Class our own Mary Heep.

Lastly there is one person who has been left out.  This is of course our Principal, Mr. Hendrickson.  Having thought it over for some time the Class still has nothing worthy to WILL him, so we think we will just leave, whispering in unison,

"WE ARE AS OF THE STRENGTH OF TEN BECAUSE OUR HEARTS ARE PURE."
