2008 QUALIFICATIONS The M & M Classic will again be hosting the Texas Softball Showdown Series. This will be series of NSA tournaments starting in January and ending in October with the "BIG" Showdown on October 25, 2008. Each tournament will offer Men's Class B, C and D, Coed, Women's and a City League Division. The tournament will be a Double Elimination Format.
All teams will be NSA sanctioned. You will pay the $25 sanction fee online @ www.PlayNSA.com before the tournament. You will receive your sanction number and you will present this to the tournament director before you play your first game in the tournament. City League Teams will also need a copy of their roster from their City Parks & Rec Department. You may add 2 girls and 2 guys to your city roster for the tournament. All rosters will be closed after the first game.
ENTRY FEE will be $150 + umps ($10 each team). Due to a large amount of NO-SHOWS there will be a $50 NON-REFUNDABLE Deposit due before your team will be put on the bracket. The remainder of the entry fee will be due before you play your first game. If tournament is canceled due to weather your deposit will be refunded.
NSA BERTHS: Berths will be given starting March 1st as follows: 1st Place Team: NSA State and NSA World Series Berths. 2nd-4th Place Teams: NSA State Berths. Also, any team that plays with the same roster in 2 tournaments will get a NSA State Berth.
TSS BERTHS: The top 4 teams in the tournament will qualify to play in the "BIG" Showdown.
REWARD SYSTEM: You will be receiving Stars for participating in a qualifier. 1st Place:10 Stars; 2nd Place:7 Stars; 3rd Place:5 Stars; 4th Place:3 Stars.
All other teams-1 Star. IN ADDITION: Extra Stars will be given to teams who play more than one tournament: 2nd Tourney-2 Stars; 3rd Tourney-3 Stars, etc. YOUR STARS will help decide your position and time in the "BIG" Showdown Bracket. More Stars-Better Start Time.
WIN 1ST PLACE IN FOUR (4) TOURNAMENTS-FREE ENTRY FEE FOR THE "BIG" SHOWDOWN.
