While most of the people in our group are parents of autistic children, we have also been joined by grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, pastors and Sunday school teachers who have direct influence on the life of an autistic child and want to learn how to help them succeed.
We are not professionals, although we do invite professionals to come and share their expertise with our group and are working on scheduling regular training sessions to assist families affected by autism and other developmental disabilities. We do not allow individuals to come and speak for the purpose of selling a product but welcome those who have information on therapies that might be of help to some in our group.
We are people, just like you, who know someone on the autism spectrum. We learn from each other, lean on each other and take great satisfaction in being able to help someone else who is struggling.
The meetings are informal and open to anyone with an interest in autism. |
