| To whom it may
concern: |
| |
| If you are looking for
a director, there are few people I would recommend more highly
than David Zarko. David directed a production of Greater
Tuna for our theatre this past summer. In addition, I
have seen his production of The Nerd and The Boys Next
Door at another theatre. |
| |
| David is creative,
incredibly easy to work with, flexible, adaptable and comes to a
project very well prepared. Our theatre uses professional
directors and designers working with a majority of non-professional
actors from our community, and supplemented by a limited number of
professional guest artists. David's Greater Tuna
was cast with local actors. He saw immediately at
auditions that the play would be better served by using three
actors instead of the traditional two, a very wise choice and
one that he made without a lot of fuss or any regret. He
was able to get funny, thorough and perhaps the most consistent
performances I have seen at our theatre out of the actors with
whom he worked. |
| |
| Moreover, David worked
very closely with all of the designers to create a very tightly
integrated production which used scenic elements, lights and
sound very effectively. Through the entire process, David
remained clam, committed and was always a pleasure to have
around. I would definitely have David back to work for me
in the future. |
| |
| In addition the other
two works of his which I have seen, I have found very well
staged, paced and focused in just the right direction. In
short, I was highly entertained! |
