By Karin Kabbe (Blue/HoneyBear) Eye For An Eye is my choice. Here, both Roxtons, good and evil, are not exclusively that, good or bad. Besides being bad, Dark Hunter is also trusting, longing for feelings and love; "weak" Roxton still shows courage, stamina and strength despite his vulnerability and indecisiveness. Only together they are complete and define the unique man John Roxton, with all his virtues and flaws. Apart, they are enemies, yet both have only one anchor, one nexus, Marguerite. Nothing is just black or white, nobody only good or bad. Will Snow credibly and beautifully fills both characters with life. By Pam Potocska William Snow presents Roxton as a gentleman of honor, strength, courage and intelligence in "The Chosen One", my favorite Roxton episode. Roxton keeps his word to help Gideon; he defends, encourages, and mentors the betrayed boy with compassionate wisdom and patience. Roxton offers wise counsel in the confrontations with the Goths, displays his skills as hunter, warrior, and military strategist, and repeatedly risks his life to help the Moya. He is protective of Marguerite, yet evidences a high level of respect for her, treating her as an equal during the adventure. Will Snow's vibrantly effective portrayal of Lord John Roxton in "The Chosen One" gifts us with a wonderful hero whose subtle emotional depth enables us to admire our hero's values and standards as much as we enjoy his physical presence. Will's work makes this an episode well worth watching...and re-watching...and re-watching once or twice more. Second Place - Angel Lee Ann The Price of a Life Roxton was indisputably handsome in The End Game, but it remains my favorite Roxton episode because it truly defined his honorable character. He frantically battled against the odds to rescue his friends from the fires of Hell without thinking for even a flickering moment of his own self-preservation. Then, he knelt on the ground, pressing the metallic barrel of the pistol to his chin, resolutely prepared to sacrifice his life for theirs. Granted, in the end, he didnt pull the trigger, but it wasnt because of cowardice or disloyalty. He knew that by caving into the Grim Reaper then, he would not only be giving her what she desired, but the opportunity to maliciously toy with his friends lives. So, in effect, he selflessly chose to spend the remainder of his life alone bracing the slicing pain and guilt of his friends demises than to collapse under Deaths heinous ploy. Third Place - Star DEAD MAN'S HILL ********************** Who can resist a Western? You've got horses - Roxton on horseback - mighty fine! Roxton in a gunfight - 'not so new? The baddies certainly are! Roxton and a ten+ second kiss - 'close your eyes, now imagine those soft lips locked on your own.whoa! you better open them now!! Roxton is left hanging (literally) in a nightmare. His anguish when he realises his friends don't know him..his utter despair when he has to shoot the man he swore he'd follow 'to hell and back' and to him his only hope of getting back to his own reality. Roxton is a 'white hat' cowboy, a hero who rights a wrong. His delicious teasing of Marguerite and the oh so irresistable line 'Care to ride off into the sunset?' ends MY #1 Roxton episode.' I don't love this episode, I truly adore it.' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FEBRUARY BIRTHDAYS The following members celebrated birthdays in February...
