Artist Statement

The series "Meditations on Chance" is based on the popular Mexican childrens game:De Loterķa. Games of chance represent a method of dealing with chaos by finding and attempting to understand the patterns within. Are the relationships random or meaningful,the combinations, like life in microcosm, are open to personal interpretation. The process of painting allows me to respond to the way objects find their way towards one another.
