
This year I will be teaching this technique at the 2007 Cherokee Gourd Gathering in Cherokee, NC. June 1 - 3, 2007 This class will be given on June 2nd Saturday afternoon from 2pm-4pm. The teaching cost is $10.00 Kits will be available from $35.00 to $75.00 according to size of gourd and leather used.

5th Annual Cherokee Gourd Artist Gathering June 1 - 3, 2007 Cherokee, NC
2007 will be the 5th Annual Gourd Gathering in Cherokee, NC. This will be our 4th year of Teaching and as with the previous 3 years I will be introducing a new Leather Covered Gourd design. The Gourd Gathering will be June 1-3rd, 2007. Come join the fun and learn something new. 
My sister's gourd badge I made for Cherokee. They were not judged because we didn't arrive until Saturday morning. Mine is the Rocking Horse below. 
Thanks to all who attend the 2 classes we teach in Cherokee. We look forward to teaching and meeting new "Gourders" each year. Keep Gourding

Here is the new design for 2007. A Mini Lion Mask, this gourd support is about 4 inches round the finished piece is about 8" long and 7" wide. Completely covered in suede leather with a leather strip used for hanging. Eyes are cut out and lined with a contrasting color. This finished mask took 15 1/2 hours to complete. Kits will be available from $35 to $50 each. Included in kit is the gourd support covered in suede leather, with 150ct 6" x 1/4" strips for the mane area,leather cut-outs for ears, also instructions to apply strips to finish. Materials needed to complete mask are : Contact(R) cement, and a pair of Fiskars(R)Softtouch locking small scissors. Class will be held the morning of June 2nd 9am to 12 noon. There is no possible way the mask can be finished in this short amount of time. But the basics for finishing will be covered during the class time 
This leather covered gourd is my 2005 design. Will take it to Cherokee Gourd Artist Gathering to show class another way to finish the cover gourd. 
Louise also took the 2005 Covered class. 
Tory enjoyed herself in both classes. 
Bennie was the only man in the class. He held his own with the girls and did a good job.
