From a young age, it was obvious
to my teachers, my parents and me that I had a natural ability in an academic area that others often not only struggle with, but also despise: spelling and grammar. It began with my winning all of the class spelling bees in grade school, and advancing to city-wide competitions. I was dubbed by my classmates as "The Human Dictionary."
This ability continued to develop in high school. My English teachers recognized my writing ability and encouraged me to develop it. My sophomore English teacher was also the advisor of the high school newspaper, and she begged me to join the staff. I agreed, and began a journey of experiences that have influenced my path ever since.
I enjoyed using my writing on the newspaper staff so much in high school that I decided to make it my major in college. In fact, I pursued a double major in journalism and radio/TV. After completing my bachelor's degree and pursuing my master's, I am now fortunate enough to be able to put my skills to use in my career.
