Our battered suitcases were piled on the sidewalk again; we had longer ways to go. But no matter; the road is life. - Jack Kerouac

If you travel in the USA, adventure awaits in every state! Miranda is our 35' Coachmen Mirada. She doesn't have a lot of whistles and bells - not even a pullout - but as the Beach Boys sang, "She still gets us where we wanna go."

We're on the road again! Denver, then Kansas, then Arkansas... It's been a Family Trip with tourism in-between. So far, the best sites have been the Eisenhower Museum and the incredible Salt Mine, that runs from New Mexico to Missouri and stores many important U.S. artifacts and art, including MOVIES. It was a 600+ feet below-ground museum.

In anticipation of Grandson #2's birth, we returned to the States in February and Miranda became our home through the end of May. We made stops to see Dad and Norma in Arkansas, Mom and John in Texas and spent one tornado-riddled night in Kansas, where we visited with Glo and Roger. Our most scenic roadtrip was to stunning Colorado Springs and the Royal Gorge Bridge. And our most rewarding experience? Spending time with our beautiful grandchildren!

Miranda's Maiden Voyage took us from Colorado to Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and South Dakota.

In Indiana, Bear Creek was the most kid-friendly RV site, and we took Granddaughter Hannah there for two wonderful weekends.

Lincoln's Tomb in Springfield, Illinois was a great place to visit and pay homage to this great President.

Yes! There ARE waterfalls in Sioux Falls!

If you don't visit the Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota, you ain't seen nothing yet! South Dakota's Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument and Needles Highway driving (with Bob and Donna - we were afraid to take Miranda on that twisty, steep, often narrow road) was our last hurrah, with a final stop at the fascinating Mammoth Site.
