C.S.S. Hunley

The C.S.S. Hunley. Where to start? This is an artillery shell with a porthole in it. The whole artillery shell gets filled with around 9 gallons of water. Through the porthole you see a submarine, (the Hunley). The Hunley has a glass side so that you can see the little sailors inside of it turning the crank that propelled the Hunley. Bubbles come out of the back of the submarine. The hull of the ship that the Hunley is attacking, the U.S.S. Housatonic,  is visible through the porthole as well. A brief history of the Hunley is written on the lid.

You want to talk about some cool history? Look this one up!! In a nutshell...this is the first submarine in history to sink an enemy ship.  It was a Confederate sub sinking a Union ship. If you don't feel like looking it up, check out the TNT movie.

Awesome piece!
