About the photographer Ken has lived in Michigan most of his adult life. A proficient Automotive professional in his daily life, his outdoor photography has included capturing images in both Michigan peninsulas, Alaska, California, Colorado, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, North Carolina, South Dakota, Utah & Washington State. While participating in on site Outdoor Photography workshops conducted by nationally prominent professionals (Rod Planck, John Shaw & George Lepp) his images have garnered their approval. Through these workshop experiences & inspirations from other photographers, he now tends to see things more critically. This has helped him better perceive & capture artistic images in our natural surroundings. Working in the 35mm format, Ken has been utilizing a digital workflow to allow him to produce archival quality, fine art prints of his images, under his total control. Most of his images have been captured on Fuji Velvia slide film and scanned commercially. With the recent acquisition of a film scanner and digital SLR, Ken will now be in total control of the digital image workflow, from image capture to digital archival printing. Ken's images have been published in issues of Outdoor Photographer, Alaska Magazine & used in Epson's promotional literature. He was a first prize winner in Epson's "Around the World with Epson Color" photo contest with his image "Ice Flower". His image "The North Face of Denali" won first place in the scenic catagory in Alaska Magazine's 2004 photo contest. He recently participated in a one-man gallery showing highlighting 35 of his most recent images.
