Stories and Pictures of Successful Adoptions

Bo has not been adopted yet but his first happy ending came when many volunteers came together to help save his life. Bo was hit by a car on Friday May 23rd. His back right leg was broken. His owners were unable to pay for his care and turned him over to rescue. Due to the way his leg was broken the best option for surgery was the Iowa State Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Ames, Iowa. The cost was estimated at $2300.00. Flyers were printed and e-mails stormed the Boxer world. Through a generous grant from the Boxer Rescue Foundation and gifts from many individuals Bo's surgery was paid for. After therapy and some time to heal he will be able to live a long and happy life.
Thank you Boxer friends. We couldn't have done it without you!

Bo's leg has healed and he has gone through underwater treadmill therapy at the Urban Pet Hospital in Urbandale, Iowa to rebuild lost muscle tone. Bo is now in his forever home and has a secure and happy future. Congratulations on your adoption Bo!
You deserve your great new home!

Below is the link to the Boxer Rescue Foundation. Through auctions and gifts the BRF raises funds for rescue operations throughout the country. They also have a special fund for Boxers in need who are not in rescue. Check out Toby's Gift. Named for a wonderful, gentle Boxer who was loved and is missed by Boxer people around the world.

MAC and MIA

mac & mia.jpg

Mac and Mia are a brother-sister combo who turned one year old in June. They needed a home together because Mia is deaf and depends on her brother to be her ears. They found a wonderful home with Mark and Kerry. We can't thank them enough for taking these wonderful Boxers into their family. Thank you for all you have done for us!
Now Mac & Mia are joined by Kane, a forever brother

Mia and Kane are deaf. Mac (brindle) acts as their ears. They get along wonderfully and have a great home.

LUCY

Lucy was just under 6 months old when her owner took her to a local rescue. They said she was un-trainable! Maximus was looking for a little sister and couldn't be happier.

Lilly and the boys

Lilly is all grown up now and what a beautiful Boxer girl she is. She and her Mom and Dad stopped over for a play date with Sammy and Banjo. They had a great time playing the way only Boxers can play. They all slept very well that night.

Monty and his baby

Monty was abandoned in the Story County shelter. One of our volunteers picked him up and that is where he stayed. He is such a good boy. Here he is doing a good job of babysitting!

Monty gets a brother. Meet Rex!

china2.jpg

China is a wonderful deaf girl who never made it further than her foster home. The foster family fell in love with her and she will stay with them forever. Even their picky Boxer girl Lily loves China. What a sweetie!

These wonderful dogs would not be in their new loving homes without your support. Please help us do more!
Foster and adoptive homes are always needed.
