Festival of Trees
Every year the Museum of Science sponsors a Christmas event called "The Festival of Trees". There is a special night for children to attend that is known as "The Reindeer Romp". In addition to all the beautifully decorated trees and other festive activities, there is also food and a visit from Santa Claus.
Looking Good For Santa
Kris and I got all dressed up in our nice Christmas outfits to have our picture taken with Santa Claus. Unfortunately, the weather was still warm and the sweaters made us hot and itchy!
Peppermint Tree
I wonder if the candy on this tree is edible? I love the taste of peppermint. (I'm a big fan of all sorts of candy!)
Santa Shamu
Kris does not seem to be really happy about posing with this Shamu character. When I was Kris' age, I thought Shamu was cute and cuddly. In fact, Mommy used my photo with him that year as a Christmas card.
Beautifully Lit Tree
I get so excited at Christmas time. All the pretty colored lights and decorations are so beautiful. It makes me want to shout out "Merry Christmas!" to everybody.
Mr. and Mrs. Claus
I'm glad Santa brought his wife with him this year. She is so nice and friendly. (Mrs. Claus seems to get younger every year.) She gave us each a candy cane for being good boys. Kris and I made a sticky mess with it. We also licked it into a sharp point so that we could jab each other and drive Mommy crazy! (What was that about being good boys?)
Bikini Bottom Tree
Kris thought that this Spongebob tree was funny. "Where's your holiday spirit?" is one of my favorite sayings from the Spongebob Christmas episode. I like to go around saying that to people and see their reaction. This photo demonstrates that Kris has plenty of holiday cheer.
Santa and The Boys
This is one of the few photos where Kris is not crying with Santa Claus. In fact, Mommy was going to include this with her Christmas cards but she never got around to sending them out this year. My parents were a little upset that we weren't looking at the camera for this picture. A magician was putting on a magic show nearby and we were too busy watching him to pay attention to anything else. Santa was even more upset by this because he was being "upstaged" by a magician!
Candy Canes
As you can see, I get easily excited about candy canes regardless of whether they are real or fake! If you look closely, you can see the remnants (and deadly point) of the candy cane that Mrs. Claus gave to me.
Southern Magnolia Tree
Kris and I want to wish ya'll a very Merry Christmas. This time of year we kin folk prefer to drink eggnog by the fire instead of sipping mint juleps on the porch. Mommy laughs sometimes because I can make a one syllable word sound like it has two or three. She says that's the South coming out in me.
Citrus Dream Tree
All the decorations on this tree (including the packages underneath it) were orange. This was one of Mommy's favorite trees because she loves the flavor of orange. She said that it reminded her of a giant Dreamsicle. Yummy, that makes me hungry for ice cream!
