Montage of comet 9P/Tempel 1 on 5/10/2005 from 03:53 to 05:29 UT. The color image is a composite of 289 fifteen-second exposures - a total exposure time of 72.25 minutes. The color composite was made with Registax following the motion of the comet. The other 3 renditions show the large expanse of the nearly spherical coma. I measured it as 3.4 by 3.0 arc-min. The fov of each frame is 8.2 by 6.2 arc-min. I used my 10" f/4 Meade Schmidt-Newtonian and their 1-shot color CCD (the Deep Sky Imager - DSI).
