Red Foxes
This brother & sister have the saddest story.  Their whole family was caught in leg traps and their parents were shot.  These two stayed with me for several weeks while their paws healed up and were released.

Fox Release
Great Blue Heron
This young heron was found with a broken radius (forearm in people terms).  He spent 5 1/2 weeks with me, four of them with his wing wrapped up to make sure the break healed properly.  He was realeased the first day of October, still plenty of time for him to get his flying strength back for migration.

I understand these guys don't migrate far, going only as far south as they need to to find open water.

October Release

Ring-billed Gull
This adult gull was found with a broken leg.  Three weeks with a splint and a week later he was back on the beach.

Black-backed Gull
This juvenile gull was not so lucky.  He was found with fishing line wrapped so tightly around him that he lost part of his tongue and the use of one leg.  He did not survive his ordeal.
