About the Reverend
The Reverend Coomers has led a charmed life. He's damn lucky to be here, but it was clawing through the jungle muck of rock and roll that got him sanctified. Along the way, he's done time in Fayetteville, Arkansas' Wayne Coomers and the Original Sins (he wasn't Wayne--read more about this "legendary" band at The Rawk), Jacksonville, Arkansas' the Arriba Cowboys, and Springfield, Missouri's Redd West and Possum Fat. He's also contributed songs to the set lists of the Jim Bobs ("Norman Rockwell Dreams"), the Luvhandles ("Turn It Up"), and the Balls ("(You Make Me Feel Just Like) Jackie Chan"), and frolicked on stage with Jesus Lee Jones. Yet to be covered are his complex compositions "I Loved You Like a Sister (Now You're Sleeping With My Brother)," "A Bottle By God and a Record By Jones," and "Prescription Bound" (written for Johnny Cash). He currently lives a life of intense medica--, uh, meditation with his wife Nico and too many pets. If anybody gives two shits, The Rev was interviewed about his humble church by The Rawk--click to read it.
