1. Write a research report explaining the rise and decline of feudalism including a comparison of the social classes of European medieval society and its impact on modern society.

2. Compare and contrast the cultural and technological contributions of the early civilizations of the Fertile Crescent: Egypt, Greece and Rome.

3. Compare and contrast traditional and modern examples of cultural elements in selected African and European countries.

4. Analyse the key issues affecting Europe and Africa compared to United States issues.
5. Understand human rights issues of Europe and Africa Compared to United States issues.
6. Compare the basic concepts of the religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Classroom Activities

Students will make plaster cast mummies, enjoy an Egyptian lunch(with help from parents), create a classroom timeline, be actively involved in several simulation units that will make learning fun, use interactive software for different early civilizations, create an African powerpoint presentation, and be exposed to music from the different cultures.
