Mrs. Smith's Sixth Grade Classroom
School Rules

RTC = RESPONSIBLE THINKING CLASSROOM

PHILOSOPHY-
We believe that all students are responsible for their own actions and must be taught to respect the rights of others. Teachers have a right to teach and students have a right to learn in safety. No students have the right to dirupt their school, regardless of where they are, especially if they are preventing other students from learning, or threatening the safety and rights of others.

Therefore the following questions can be used:
-What are you doing?
-What are the rules?
-What happens when you break the rules?
-Is this what you want to happen?
-Where do you want to be now?
-What will happen if you continue to break rules?

Students who choose to go to the RTC will have to complete either a letter or a plan depending on the number of visits.

It is possible that your child will be in the RTC room at lunch to finish homework assignments, in this case it is just used as a place to complete work and a letter or plan will not be completed.

Please contact Leslie Hager if you have further questions.

Classroom Rules

We will be creating the classroom rules together the first week of school. I will post them here when they are completed.
