Geometry and Measurement

Mt. Pleasant Public School Outcomes

1. Measure the diameter, radius and circumference of a circle, and use a grid to determine area.

2. Demonstrate the volume of rectangular prisms and cylinders using formulas and manipulatives.

3. Apply linear measurement, weight/mass, and capacity/volume and make conversions within customary and/or metric systems.

Classroom Activities

Students will use tape measures, yard sticks, rulers, meter sticks, etc. to measure various objects in the classroom. We will discuss the best unit to measure distance traveled, liquids, football fields, and more.
