ABOUT OUR SPIRITUAL ENCOUNTER GROUP MEETINGS...
I believe that it is important for new believers to experience God in a personal and unique way in which they can truly say that they have connected with God. The experience of an encounter with God is always life changing and powerful. Many times it is a stripping away of all facade in order to come face to face with Him. This means we have to get honest with ourselves (our spiritual condition) as well as with Him in order for Him to discover a genuinely earnest heart who aspirer to know Him. We aim to create an atmosphere that is conducive for the Holy Spirit by strong heartfelt praise and worship, and strong preaching or teaching, and strong prayer for individuals who respond to His Word. These power encounters are deeply personal and emotional, meeting each person on their own level (as they have need), so it would be impossible to fully know the fruit or benefit without having their own experience with God or hearing the testimonies from the individuals who have personally been touched by God. Those who are seekers are usually those who find Him! Open up your heart and God will meet you at your point of need.

Ps. 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

HAVING A POWER ENCOUNTER WITH GOD
Bible Examples Of Manifestations
Scripture shows that the effect of the Holy Spirits presence upon individuals can lead to certain (normative) physical manifestations. Some are found in a negative context, such as judgment, but others in a positive context of spiritual communion or revelation. With God, the supernatural is natural. This is why He has us prayer in the Lords pray

Lk. 11:2 When ye pray, say Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

All such phenomena are in the context of a powerful encounter with God. Reading the list below will show that Scripture abounds with references to people who experienced physical manifestations, reaction or effects as they came under the powerful anointing of God. When Gods power comes, many strange or unusual things may happen to people. We believe that Scripture defines the boundaries and shows us the origin of these occurrences with His will and purpose always in mind.

The Great Commission Reveals His Affirming Power & Manifestations
Mt 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Mk. 16:15-18 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Mk. 16:20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

We believe that the same affirming power is at work backing up His Word today with the same signs and wonders following wherever His Word is preached or taught!

Jn. 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

Bible Scripture contains the fullness and complete scope (or pail) on all authorized spiritual manifestations coming from God. The Bible is our text book (of measurement) which provides every reference for testing the spirits and manifestations.

Heb. 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

The reference to the Lord working with the disciples confirming the word with signs following tells us that these signs and wonders were in manifestation backing up the Word they preached. From these passages we can understand that God is still backing up His Word bringing about spiritual manifestations. These manifestations always fall within the guidelines of the Scriptures.

Falling Down
Numbers 28:2-4); Ezek.1:28; Dan.8:7 and 10:8-11; Jn. 18:6; Acts 9:3-9; and Rev.1:17.
In all these situations, as Gods Word, presence, or power was made manifest, these men all fell to the ground --- some speaking of physical weakness and being overcome. Some may be voluntary action and some involuntary reactions. These are examples of what may happen as a result of Gods powerful visitation.

Trembling & Shaking
Psalm 119:120; Job 4:14; Isa. 6:15; Jer.5:22;23:9; Hab.3:16;Matt.28:4; and Acts 4:31.
The physical reactions of trembling and shaking occurred as the Lord spoke or manifested His presence. Such was the intensity of His physical movements that Jeremiah describe himself as a drunken man (Jer.23:9).

Visions
II Kings 6:17; Isa.6:1; Ezek.1:1-3; Acts 2:17-18; 7:55-56; II Corin.12:1-4 and Rev.1:10.
These men were caught up by the Spirit into a heavenly realm, given insight into future events or enabled by the Spirit to view the unseen spiritual world that surrounded them. In whatever manner it happened, their physical bodies were affected by this supernatural impacting of God.

Trances
Acts 10:10
Peter fell into a trance, in which he was given a vision concerning Gods heart towards the Gentiles. Paul possibly also had a trance (II Corin.12;1-5). These are linked to vision and revelation. This is something that would be quite extraordinary and possibly unacceptable in much of todays church.

Laughter & Being Overwhelmed With Joy
Genesis 21:6; Ecc.3:4; 10:19; Job 8:21; Ps.2:4; 126:2.
Laughter in one of the most therapeutic of all emotional reactions and yet, it can be repressed, particularly in modern religious forms of Christianity. The Scripture contains many references to laughter as an expression of joy when the children of Israel returned to the land, or as a mark of derision against the enemy or victory over them. God is also said to laugh in that way (Ps.2:4, etc.). It can be perverted by the enemy as a mocking of God, but God is the real originator of laughter. In Genesis 21:6, Sarah says, God made me laugh. He is the God of Joy. John 17:13, speaks about how God desires that we should have the full measure of His joy. Laughter can be that blessing of that joyous encounter bringing forth laughter.

Weeping
I Samuel 1:10; II Chron.34:27; Neh.8:9;Hos.12:4; and Lk.19:41.
Crying, like laughter, is one of the foremost ways of personal expression. The Bible shows many examples of this reaction to Gods presence or work in peoples lives, in repentance, sorrow or grief for the lost.

Immobilization
II Chron.5:13-14; 7:2.
The priests were unable to continue ministering their sacred duties; such was the heavy (weighty) presence of the Lord. This parallels today. Many people could have gone to them and said, It is written in Levitical law to minister how can this be God since He is interrupting His own Word and ministry. One cannot be certain of the exact form these reactions took, but one can be sure that they were visible and demonstrable for it to be written and recorded.

Negative Effects
II Chron.26:16-21; Lev.10:1-2 and Acts 5:1-11.
These effects happened to those, who in some way profaned the presence of God, both by action and attitude.

Anger
I Samuel 11:6 and Jn.2:13-22.
This anger or zeal of the Lord comes by the power of the Holy Spirit when people see a violation of Gods holiness or situation that grieves Him. They respond out of a righteous indignation at its injustice. This godly zeal is accompanied by a release of energy or empowerment to deal with the root of provocation.

Strength
Judges 6:34; Acts 4:23-31; 7:1-60.
There are many instances where boldness comes out of an encounter with God. These usually involve other manifestations such as prophetic speech or empowerment for victory in battle. The boldness may also have been accompanied by emotional, moral, and physical courage.

Deep Emotional Response
Acts 2:37
It is difficult to imagine that this form of response did not include at least tears of repentance.

Deep Sleep
Genesis 2:21; 15:12.
This unnatural sleep is said in Scripture to have fallen on these men, indicating that it was as god touched them.

Various Healing Manifestations
Isaiah 53: Matt.8:16-17; Lk.7:22
When the power of God is transferred through coming into contact with Jesus the woman with the issue of blood was healed (Mk.5:28). Healing is available under the power of God and is received by personal faith (Matt.15:28; Lk.8:48;17:19; Mk.5:34;10:52).

The Working Of Miracles
Lk.4:33-35;Jn.6:2;Acts 2:22;4:4,21;5:14-16;8:5;9:42;14:8-18;19:11,40;20:9-12;28:8,9.
It is the Spirit's work to bring about miracles for those who have believed God at His Word. According to the Bible, miracles are the common product of coming under God's Kingdom (His Rule & Reign) in the realm of the Spirit. Paul tells us that the Spirit of Life (the life giving Spirit), that Miracle working power has been increased (2 Cor.3:9) the resurrection power is given to all believers under the New Covenant through the Name of Jesus.

In His Name We Have Authority - The Lord Working With Us!
Mark 16:17-18,20 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents (signifying taking authority over the demonic); and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
