on Contact Us. Peyton was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma on April 20th, a week after her first birthday. The signs she presented were irritabilty, an inability to stand, and swelling of the feet. She also had an extreme case of gastro-reflux and had been hospitalized for a urinary tract infection.
After numerous doctor appointments, she finally had an MRI which showed a tumor approximately the size of an orange in her abdomen and extending around her spinal column. Peyton has endured several surgeries including surgery to remove the part of the tumor wrapped around her spinal cord and has gained mobilty of her feet and legs. The abdominal portion of the tumor is currently unresectable, due to its location near major blood vessels leading to her heart. She is currently recieving chemotherapy treatment to shrink the tumor away from these blood vessels. Future treatment will include surgery, radiation and possibly a BMT(bone marrow transplant). |
