
Minimal SyMon: some components hidden under'neath. It has: 32k NVRAM. 16k ROM (8k used by SyMon). 24-bit parallel I/O (8255 PPI). RS-232 serial port. The MPU clock is 1.8432 MHz. All CMOS with on-board 5v regulator, it is powered by a 9v battery. The RAM and Dallas Semi. NVRAM control chips are under the ROM chip. The address decoder and other logic are under the MPU chip. The 5v regulator is under the PPI chip, including an (un-needed) heatsink. A Maxim MAX233 RS-232 driver (which also serves as the power-up reset timer) is under the ACIA. Incidentally, there is not a single decoupling capacitor present; I like to test a circuit's reliability before they are added. So far, no problems...
