Welcome to the home of FC AFC Elijah's Sunshine Sally and many others.

Hi, welcome to Sunshine Chesapeakes. You have found the home of Stephen and Sharon Parker and their world famous dogs. Please feel free to look around at our pictures and pedigrees. Drop us a line or call if you are interested in purchasing a puppy. Our address and phone number can be found under "Contact us".

This site is here to let you know about upcoming litters and allow you to see our dogs. Please let us know if you like it. It will be a work in progress as my son and I are just beginners in the field of web design.

Puppies Due Feb 11th

12/19/09 Georgia's pedigree is now accurate on Chessiedb.org

12/11/09 Long time in between updates. Sorry about that, but we have good news! Georgia has been bred to Delmarva's Native Son owned by Tom Cox. More info on the 'Puppies and Pedigrees' page. Check it out. They should be due Feb 11 and ready to go early April. Call or write for more info.

7/26/09 Update: I am happy to announce that Sunshine Georgia Peach got 2nd place at the PRTA field trial at Twin Bridges, MT. Hurray for the brown dogs! Also I am posting 4 pics of the Penny puppies on the Puppy Pics Page 2. I will have some pics of the Tilda litter soon. I took some but they just didn't turn out to my satisfaction. I hate my camera. Since my father got a new one, mine sucks. Heh, it was cool when I got it but now . . . Anyway, new pics soon.

7/15/09 Update: I posted a pic of a Penny female on the Puppy Pics Page 2 for the Jayo family. I swear, puppies are so unphotogenic at this age. I will try to get more soon.

7/9/09 Update: Tilda's litter was born on the 4th of July. Imagine that, another holiday birth for us. Somehow I'm not surprised. She had 8 males and 2 females. Momma dog is doing fine and so are all the babies. All healthy and happy. The Penny puppies are starting to open their eyes and get their first look at the world. I know I said I would get pics up soon but there hasn't been a whole lot of interest to see. I'll get some up soon.

6/22/09 Update: Penny had puppies on Father's Day, upholding her tradition of having babies on holidays. We got 3 females and 6 males. I'm not really going to comment on color right now because at this age you can't really tell how they will turn out, but we got both dark and light colors. All seem healthy and happy and are of good size. If you would be so kind, give us a day or so before you call with questions. She started at 2:30 PM and went until almost 5 in the morning.

6/11/09 Update: adding an icy hunting pic of our boy Sally Forth taken with a cellphone while out hunting on the Snake River last winter. Also Penny and Tilda are doing great. Penny looks ready to explode! We might have to start taking bets on how many she is going to have.

5/30/09 Update: Penny is looking HUGE! She likes to show early and with only 22 days or so remaining until she is due, it looks like we are going to have a good litter from her. Tilda is not really showing yet, but last time she wasn't very big and had 11 when we expected only five or so. We'll see how it goes.

Also, I have been meaning to post on here that both Tilda and Sally have been tested for DM and both came back "N/N" or clear. Georgia (who has not been bred) came back clear also. For what it's worth, we have never seen a case of DM in our dogs.

Anyway, we're waiting patiently for puppies to arrive. Cheers!

5/6/09 Well it's kind of funny how life works out. The female we plan to breed doesn't come into heat, so we decide to breed a different one. Then lo and behold, everyone comes into heat 2 weeks later. So we decided to take the opportunity and breed Matilda to Sally like we had planned all along. Both pedigrees are up for download on the Puppies and Pedigrees page. The Sally Tilda litter should be due around July 7th and ready to go around September. Also summer is heating up and the trial season is starting so we will be out and about at trials and hunt tests. In other news, we are happy to report that this spring Sunshine Hello Josephine got a Junior Hunter pass and Sunshine Yorktown got 2 Senior Hunter passes.

4/24/09 Well we finally got a bitch to come into heat and we got a breeding. Sunshine Penelope has been bred to Sunshine Sally Forth. Pups should be due around June 22nd and should be ready to go near the end of August. The pedigree is available for download on the Puppies page. If you have any questions please feel free to drop us a line or call.

12/4/08 Very sorry I haven't updated the website lately but we were still keeping our fingers crossed that Hannah was with babies, but alas it was not meant to be. I am sorry to say that we didn't get any pups from our expected 11/20 litter.

We are planning on breeding Tilda to Sally again as soon as she comes into heat, which should be some time in January or February. I will try to keep the site up to date when we get a breeding and everything is official.

9/25/08 Added a Silly Pic of Georgia shaking off at the Eastern Idaho trial this fall. Thanks Kirby!

Also of note: we got a second tie and are fairly confident that we will get pups.

9/17/08 Puppy Update: We got a tie today between our Hannah and Ricky. Hannah has never been bred before because all attempts in the past had failed. She is a Master Hunter and Qualified All-age. We hope that the breeding will take and will expect puppies around 11/20/08.

Please visit our Puppies and Pedigrees page to see the new pedigree. I will update it with more info soon.

ALSO PLEASE CHECK OUT THE NEW UPDATE NOTIFCATION FEATURE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE. Please let me know if this isn't working. Thanks.

8/29/08 It's been a busy year and we apologize for not updating the site sooner. Rob has gone pro and is training nearly every day with Steve. Georgia Peach got a win at Northern Utah Retriever Club in the qualifying and we're pretty excited about that. Carrier and one of Rob's training dogs both passed a Junior handled by Rob. His first ribbon in a LONG time. Yay!

We still have plans for a litter sometime soon but the details aren't quite worked out yet. Check back soon (probably a couple months :P ) for more info on that. You can see new pics both below and on the page 2 of Our Dogs.

2/10/08 Unfortunately, this litter is completely sold out and all shipped off to new homes. We were really surprised that she had 11 pups. She is such a lean little thing that we only expected about 5. Please keep checking back for updates and future litters. At the moment we are done with our usual 1 litter per year, but may consider doing another if the cards fall right and the interest in the dogs keeps coming in like it has. Feel free to drop us a line or just call to chat. If you are serious about buying a pup, please remember that you can always send a deposit and we can hold it until our next litter. Hope everyone has a good year and good luck in the trials and hunting.

1/21/08 Added 2 pics of the pup going to Pratt, KS on "Puppy Pictures Page 2"

1/10/08 Check out the new pics on "Puppy Pictures Page 2". It will be quicker to load than adding them all to the first page.

1/5/08 New pics up on the Puppies page. Cute, cute, CUTE!!!

12/21/07 Just thought we would put a quick note that we do have males and females currently available from this litter. If you have any questions, please call.

12/17/07 New pics posted of the pups. THey are being weaned and looking good. Some have very distinct personalities even now. They are getting out of the whelping box and getting into all kinds of mischief. Aren't puppies fun?!?!

11/25/07 Pics posted on Puppies and Pedigrees page. Gosh they're cute!

11/22/7 We have pups!! Tilda finished up this morning with a total of 3 males and 8 females. Following a long tradition here she whelped at night on a holiday. The pups are very uniform in size and range from medium to light brown. Some may end up dead grass. They are good sized and all look healthy. Can't tell you any more at this time. Oh, Rob says they have the new puppy smell. More soon.
Steve
