86 Chapp.jpg

My first Hamer guitar, an '86 Chapparal. The single coils are The original Hamer Slammers. The bridge pickup is a Duncan Full Shred Trembucker. Hamer was unique among guitar companies in the mid 80's in that they were still sticking to set neck construction and a short (24 3/4") scale length. This guitar has a look and a range of sounds that make it as much at home playing 80's new wave as it is playing metal!

Yellow Chapparal.jpg

Back to the 80's! An 87 Chapparal in pearl yellow. Pickups are a Duncan Custom Custom and two Duckbuckers. The back of the neck is unpainted - something you didn't see on most of these guitars.

Black Cherry Chapparal.jpg

An early 90's Chapparal Elite 90 in black cherry sparkle finish. Around 1988, Hamer joined the crowd and started making bolt on guitars with 25 1/2" scale length, like their competitors. The Chapp Elite 90 is one of the finest examples of guitars built for speed and performance. Despite the bolt on neck, access to the highest frets is unrestricted. The pickups are the stock Duncan Trembuckers. These are not polite, pretty sounding pickups. They're loud, chunky and aggresive. This guitar was made to do one thing: Rock!
