Hamer Californians

The candy apple red and granite ones have an Ultrasonic Ref 3 in the neck spot. The SSL-1 that was there when I got them wasn't a good match for the Tembucker at the bridge.

The black one and the transparent red one have the stock Trembuckers. I love how that guitar looks in transparent red! As of March, 2005, the black one is now with my friend Juan Carlos in Spain. I hope he's enjoying it. As of fall 2006, the cherry transparent one is sold.

The pearl blue one has a Custom Custom and an SSL-1. A previous owner added a tone control, so I filled the hole with a coil tap switch for the bridge humbucker. With the humbucker tapped and both pickups on, I get great clucking clean sounds. The blue one is now sold. I'm hanging on to the candy apple red one, the granite one, and the flame maple one.

New to the group as of August 2005 is the flame maple 89 Californian Elite. Solid flame maple body and OBL pickups. It sounds very different from the mahogany bodied ones. Brighter, janglier highs when playing chords, but higher notes sing, they don't screech, when playing lead.
