Freshly sandblasted control arms....
Upon removing the stock mono leaf on the driver side, the front eye broke! Good thing I was planning on replacing them anyway!
Up close on the front spring eye of the new three leafs. This design acts as a traction bar.
This quick ratio box is from a 90 Firebird with the hi-po suspension package.
Here is the replacement subframe we picked up when the car was gone over the first time. It showed signs of being used in a drag car with angle iron welded to the frame horns (presumably for a tow bar-picture above) and the access hole for the lower control arm bolt on the dr side is notched (presumably for a chain to limit engine travel-picture right). Also note this is a 67 frame, the lower control arm bumper mounts on the outside of the spring pockets and the frame horns do not have the large holes on the inside. | |

Custom three leaf springs by Pohl Springs in Washington.
Here is a 13" Corvette front rotor next to the rear 11" Lincoln disc. Also in the pic are a pair of shock plates from a 75 Nova and one rear caliper.
This hydroboost and master cylinder were removed from a 2001 Mustang Cobra. Once retrofitted to the firewall and plumbed into the power steering it should provide awesome braking performance.
I had the subframe painted body color the last time, this time I'm going with standard semigloss black. Right now I'm just trying to grind down some ugly slag and prep the frame for some welding, then it's off to the sandblaster. |
