I have been around HAM radio all my life, my father was a HAM and I had a few family members that were Ham's, I built my first transmitter when I was 12 and got out for a while then got back in, in the 80's. I enjoy collecting and restoring Collins radios and have a few of them; I enjoy the Collins nets and working AM in the early hours on 3.880. I enjoy working low bands on my Collins S line station. I live in Tomball, Texas on a small ranch, How you ask did I get my nick name, " My dad was the engineer for WHO (A broadcast radio station) in the late 40's & 50's, the sports announcer was named "Dutch" and I used to crawl around his feet when he was doing the high school sports and that was the first thing I learned to say was "Dutch". That announcer was Dutch Regan who later became a famous movie star and later president of the United States. I am a member of the Collins Collector Association, NAVY/MARINE CORPS M.A.R.S and served in the United States Marines during the Viet Nam. |
