We went to Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation at a bare minimum. We actually BELIVED in The Real Presence of Christ in The Eucharist. We knew that there are 7 Sacraments, not a hodgepodge of "up for grabs" notions of God Given Sacraments. We went from the examples of Pope Urban II who actually had the bad manners to call for the LIBERATION of The Holy Land from the infidel moslem invaders by force of arms if needed. Never mind the fact that the moslems sent into slavery, raped, and in many cases, murdered thousands upon thousands of Catholics when they INVADED The Holy Land. No... let's not bring THAT up! We had the examples of Their Most Catholic Majesties Ferdinan and Ysabella who *GASP!* defended The Realm against those who would destroy such from within!! Let's not bring up that it wasn't "all" the jews and moslems that were targeted by The Holy Inquisition, only the false Conversos. Only those who falsley converted to destroy both the Spanish Kingdom AND Catholicism from within. And for the love of God, let's not mention that fewer than 9,000 were actually executed for both heresy and treason. Kind of a far cry from the 300 MILLION that I was once told! Hey, 300 million was almost the population of the entire population of the earth at the time!

We had the examples of Father Vincent Cappodanno, a Navy Chaplain assigned to the 5th Marine Regiment in Viet-Nam. Father Cappodanno won the Congressional Medal of Honor for, during battle, administering the Sacrement of Extreme Unction to the dead and dying and giving life saving first aid to the wounded. Father Cappodanno refused to be evacuated, despite being wounded himself. Saving souls and lives were more important. Volunteering for a cause that stood up to Godless communism (as Father Cappodanno did) is a far cry from the "Liberation Theology" we see present day. A meld of communism and Catholicism? Unbelievable.
